What is it?

Sharks and rays are in peril. Their numbers have declined in record numbers in the last 50 years.

A mix of over-fishing, finning demands, unregulated high seas and general ignorance is killing our sharks.

They are imperative to the whole ecosystem. In fact, without sharks the food chain would be so disrupted that corals would die and this could affect humans with irreversible consequences.

Who is it for?

In our opinion this should be a compulsory course for all divers! We recommend that anyone with an interest in the survival of sharks take this course.

It is extremely important reading for younger divers and older divers alike. The dives themselves specifically go looking for sharks, which is what most divers want to do in any case!

• Prerequisites: 10 years old Junior Open Water or higher

How long does it take?

A full day or 2 half days made of 1 classroom presentation/ knowledge review session and a 2 tank dive.

• Duration: 1 day
• Diving theory: 4 hours
• Number of Dives: 2 tanks

Shark conservation PDF, classroom session, dive equipment, tanks, weights, surface interval snacks and water.
