La Paz day trip outline
- Depart with CPG transportation/tour manager from Cabo between 4 am and 6 am (depending on the tour).
- Arrive at La Paz 7 am – 8 am (depending on tour) to check-in
- Fit your equipment, sign the waivers…. and join the boat!
- Enjoy 6 hours onboard at different locations.
- Return to dock between 2pm and 3pm
- Back to Los Cabos before 7pm.
Where and when to go ?
La Paz offer Year-round diving.
November – March:
1 tank sea lion combo/whale shark snorkel activity (no scuba permitted in the whale shark area).
October – May
2 tank dive at. 1st dive at Los Islotes sea lion colony. The second will be elected on the boat with the Divemaster who will evaluate conditions and dive experience.
June – October
2 tank dive either at the Island or upgrade to visit La Reina reef to look for giant mantas.

Conditions in La Paz are as follows on average but can change year to year – presume it might be 2 degrees warmer or colder.

Water Visibility
Visibility changes all year round but tends to be lower (30ft) in May-July and clearer (60ft- 90ft) in September – December.
Wind Conditions
The wind tends to blow strong in Jan – April so cancellations are common. We get most swell in Sept/Oct so La Paz is a great place to enjoy flatter seas.

Scuba diving in La Paz, Mexico
Espiritu Santo Island
Espiritu Santo Island is a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to the largest sea lion colony in the area, accessible between October to May every year.
There are also plentiful reefs and a handful of impressive wrecks for diving during the summer.
Cerralvo Island
Cerralvo Island,to the East, is a remote paradise, providing a pelagic rest-stop for giant manta rays in summer, not to mention the megafauna that surfaces from one of the deepest canyons in the Gulf of California throughout the year.
