Dolphins Encounter

The 6 hour boat trip is plenty of time to explore the waters looking for dolphins.

In-water swimming with dolphins is not guaranteed but we will be jumping in with whatever we can find at the reef and open ocean throughout the day!

Dolphins are often traveling fast in super-pods and are also frequently seen in smaller family cells moving slowly in the water.

Sometimes dolphins double back to say hi! Or, they just swim past us – still affording us a good encounter as they have uninterrupted fun with their families.

We witness many of their natural behaviors such as leaping out of the water, riding the wake and bow of the boat, or communicating through clicks and whistles.

Cerralvo Island Wildlife

Aside from the exhilarating dolphin encounters, the town of La Ventana and Cerralvo island are a gateway to a diverse marine environment waiting to be explored.

Snorkeling or diving around the island will reveal a vibrant underwater world teeming with soft coral reefs, tropical fish, and other marine life such as whales, orca, turtles, sea lions and leaping mobula rays.

As a bespoke boutique adventure snorkeling company, we have now decided to offer this bucket-list open-ocean day safari to Jacques Cousteau Island (Cerralvo Island); a more secluded area of Baja Sur where you can spend a day away from busy Cabo enjoying this unique and stunning wildlife encounter.

From Cabo San Lucas or San Jose Del Cabo

• Depart Cabo San Lucas 6.00am (or from San Jose del Cabo for an additional cost). A packed mini breakfast.
• Arrive in la Ventana for 8am and board a 26ft – 28ft panga boat with shade.
• Spend 4 – 6 hours onboard looking for wildlife. Enjoy a picnic style lunch onboard.
• Head back to Los Cabos to arrive between 4pm / 6pm.

Who is this Dolphin Ocean Safari for?

If you’re an avid dolphin lover, this is for you! Young children welcome.

Rustic boat ladders mean a certain level of basic flexibility and fitness is required, even as a passenger.

Must be able to climb a small ladder form deep water and board the boat stepping over the side on the beach with help.

Do you need to be a good swimmer?

You will have the opportunity for open ocean snorkeling during this trip, so a good comfort level in the water is recommended – although you do not need to be an Olympic swimmer! You should be able to climb up a basic ladder at the back of the boat. To get into the boat we need to climb in at the side of the beach in ankle-deep water.

Life jackets are available for anyone who wants one.

The water temperature on the Sea of Cortez during this season is between 68°F (20°c) to 77°F (25°c).
